Sonu Nigam: Early Life
Sonu was born in Faridabad. His family moved to Delhi when he was still young. He attended J.D. Tytler School. His father Agam Kumar is a singer too. Sonu has two younger sisters; One of them, Neekita Nigam is also a singer. Sonu started singing at the age of four-and-a-half years singing a Mohammad Rafi number at a concert where his father was due to perform. He was discovered and promoted by Gulshan Kumar of T-Series, who gave him his first major recording opportunities. He moved from Delhi to Mumbai to seriously pursue his singing career, at the age of 19.
Career:
Sonu started his career singing covers of Mohammad Rafi songs. His first movie as a playback singer was (Janum) which was a major flop in (1990). Nigam, who made his singing debut in 1992 with the song “O Aasman Wale” from the film “Aaja Meri Jaan”, is regarded as one of the most versatile voices in the Indian film industry.

In his almost three-decade-long career in films, he has tracks including “Achcha Sila Diya Tune Mere Pyar Ka”, “Ye Dil Deewana”, “Kal Ho Na Ho”, “Saathiya”, “Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin”, to his credit.
