With northern Virginian roots, Kathryn has been calling the Washington, D.C. area home all her life. An intellectual at heart, she fell in love with the French language at an early age, pursuing her B.A. in International Studies, French, and History from Allegheny College, in the rolling green hills of Pennsylvania. During the COVID Pandemic, she moved her sights overseas by taking classes at Moscow International University, where she virtually studied Russian Language, Culture and Area Studies.
A participant of the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF), Kathryn was placed in the Académie de Bordeaux in In the small coastal town of Biscarrosse, she got familiar with the French language and culture. The following year, Kathryn moved across the country to settle in Saint-Étienne, where she worked at a local nonprofit, continued teaching English in nearby schools, and became a fan of the city’s well-loved soccer team. Through her colleagues in the Académie de Lyon, Kathryn got the opportunity to travel to Slovenia, where she briefly worked as an interpreter for French speaking students who voyaged to the country to improve their conversational English.

Érik Pédurand is a singer/ songwriter originally from the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. The artist has a reputation for surprising his audiences with his unique arrangements and unapologetic frankness. His work is infused with diverse musical roots, including Guadeloupean gwo-ka, blues, soul and jazz. His lyrics explore subjects little discussed outside of France: the Creole experience, French identity politics, and life in the Parisian capital. Singing in Creole, French, and English, the artist is a language enthusiast, self-taught guitarist and music nerd.
Pédurand grew up in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. As a child he was enamoured with American gospel and Guadeloupean gwo-ka music. At the age of 17, he made his début on National TV as a contestant on the show StarDom, broadcast on the channel RFO. After a disappointing defeat, Érik moved to Paris to study languages. He immersed himself in Spanish and English undergraduate studies and spent his time alternating between the classroom and the stage.
